2009 MOTOR SHOW
BRIDGESTONE AND TOYOTA, TOGETHER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
Bridgestone goes green and confirms its presence at the Bologna Motor Show, set to be held at BolognaFiere from 4 to 8 December. Bridgestone - the media sponsor of the event – will be offering a test-drive area in which visitors can try out the new, eco-friendly Ecopia tyres fitted onto the new Toyota iQ and Prius models.
During the Motor Show, in Area 45 – one of the external areas dedicated to the Motor Show’s test drives,
which last year saw a total of 49,797 product tests being conducted by
the public – all visitors with a driving licence will have the opportunity to carry out free tests, allowing them to feel Bridgestone’s ecological commitment first-hand.
Bridgestone Ecopia tyres deliver an exceptional balance between safety and environmental protection,
which has been reached through a comprehensive commitment to
development, resulting in the enhancement of both braking distance and
stability, as well as a reduction in noise and rolling resistance. The
rolling-resistance factor has made it possible to achieve impressive
results in terms of the reduction in consumption and in CO2 emissions.
There will be a similar set up for Toyota. For the test drives, this manufacturer (a partner in the “green” area) will offer up its iQ, the first car in the world that in less than 3 metres can play host comfortably to four passengers, and its Prius, the world's first hybrid car,
which makes it possible to lower consumption and reduce dangerous
emissions to an extraordinary extent – 26 km per litre of fuel and 89
g/km of CO2.
